Baku sees no alternative to normalizing relations with Yerevan - Deputy PM

BAKU. Sept 9 (Interfax) - There is no alternative to normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev said on Friday.

"Baku is interested in normalizing relations with Yerevan and is ready for negotiations on a peace agreement. There is no alternative to normalizing these relations," Mustafayev said.

Baku and Yerevan can normalize bilateral relations only if there is mutual recognition of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability of international borders between Azerbaijan and Armenia within the framework of the establishment of interstate relations, he said.

Mustafayev added that the 3+3 platform (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Russia and Iran) would help enhance regional security.
