Gazprom increases planned capacity of LNG plant in Orenburg, investment in project - governor

ORENBURG. Sept 9 (Interfax) - Gazprom LNG Technologies plans to invest 4 billion rubles in the construction of a complex to produce and ship liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Orenburg Region with capacity of at least 42,000 tonnes per year, the region's governor, Denis Pasler said on his Telegram channel.

"We discussed the company's work in the Orenburzhye special economic zone with Gazprom LNG Technologies director Ivan Kozhevnikov. The company will become another resident of the SEZ by the end of this year," Pasler said, adding that the new production facility will create 40 jobs.

The regional government's press service was reported earlier as saying that a month ago Gazprom LNG Technology announced plans to build an LNG plant in the Orenburzhye SEZ in 2024 with capacity upwards of 25,000 tonnes per year at a cost of 2.5 billion rubles. It was reported that preparations to implement the project were already underway.

Gazprom LNG Technologies is the Gazprom group's operator of small-scale LNG production and use projects. The company plans to build 21 to 26 LNG production and shipping complexes with total capacity of about 1 million tonnes in 2022-2024.
