Aeroflot to update development strategy

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Aeroflot Group will update its development strategy in the near future, CEO Sergei Alexandrovsky told reporters at the Eastern Economic Forum.

"In the near future, an updated development strategy for the group will be presented to the board of directors. Obviously, the situation [in the industry] has changed significantly and the goals have changed," Alexandrovsky told reporters at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2022).

He did not any details of the updated strategy.

"At the same time, in terms of the group's business model, everything will remain as it is: all companies will work in the same niches as they do now, and no mergers are expected," he said.

Aeroflot's current development strategy was adopted in 2020. By 2028, the group expected to bring its annual passenger traffic to 130 million people (compared to 60.7 million in 2019) - half of this volume was expected to be provided by low-cost airline Pobeda. This, as declared, would lead to a 30% reduction in ticket prices.
