Gazprom Neft intends to develop petrochemicals production at Omsk Refinery, considering wide range of technological partners

MOSCOW. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Gazprom Neft is mulling development of petrochemical production at the Omsk refinery and is considering a wide range of technological partners, Oleg Vedernikov, head of the company's oil and gas processing directorate, told reporters.

"We are considering the possibility of developing the Omsk refinery along the petrochemical vector. This will provide additional flexibility to the refinery, adding the entire basket of intermediate, secondary and low-margin products to the production cycle. Our company has sufficient feedstock and technological resources to create a modern petrochemical facility. We are now studying a wide range of potential technological partners for this project," he said.

The Omsk Refinery supplies petroleum products to Siberia and the Urals, and also to Kazakhstan. The depth of refining at the refinery is 90.89%, with output of light products at 71.04%. Annual production capacity is 21.6 million tonnes of oil and 1.2 million tonnes of stable gas condensate.
