Five vessels with Ukrainian food exports to leave for Turkey, Italy and China on Thurs under Istanbul grain deal - UN

NEW YORK, UN. Sept 8 (Interfax) - The Joint Coordination Center has approved the departure on Thursday of five vessels carrying foodstuffs from Ukrainian ports under the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the United Nations said.

The Joint Coordination Center authorized the departure of five vessels carrying a total of 83,241 tonnes of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the UN said.

According to the UN report, they are the Jasmin Queen (9,531 tonnes of corn), the Captain Adam 1 (9,300 tonnes of wheat), and the Filyoz (4,410 tonnes of sunflower oil), all bound for Turkey. The Kiran America vessel will head to China with 50,000 tonnes of barley and corn on board, and the Santana will deliver 10,000 tonnes of wheat to Italy.

There is also the Dignity vessel, with 8,200 tonnes of sunflower seed aboard, which earlier rescheduled its departure from the Chornomorsk port until Thursday, September 8. The Dignity is expected to head to Turkey.

As of September 7, a total of 2,334,850 tonnes of grain and other foodstuffs have been exported from three Ukrainian ports. The movement of 211 vessels, including 111 vessels arriving in Ukrainian ports and 100 outbound vessels, has been approved so far, the UN said.
