Over 2 mln tonnes of agricultural products exported in Ukraine under Istanbul grain deal - UN

NEW YORK, UN. Sept 6 (Interfax) - The Joint Coordination Center cleared six vessels to depart from Ukrainian ports on Tuesday as part of the Istanbul grain deal, the United Nations said.

"The Joint Coordination Center authorized today the movement of six outbound vessels carrying a total of 87,442 metric tonnes of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the UN said in a statement

These vessels are the Irmgard, with 27,500 tonnes of wheat and 7,179 tonnes of corn on board, and the New Levant, with 26,500 tonnes of wheat aboard, both bound for Turkey, the Egypt-bound Queen Sara carrying 11,000 tonnes of corn, the Vitis, which will deliver 5,800 tonnes of sunflower oil to Italy, the Greece-bound Ocmis Adventure with 4,862 tonnes of corn aboard, and the Oris Princess, which will deliver 4,510 tonnes of sunflower meal to Israel, according to the UN.

"As of September 5, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 2,125,530 metric tonness. A total of 197 voyages (107 inbound and 90 outbound) have been enabled so far," it said.

According to earlier reports, more than 1.5 million tonnes of Ukrainian agriculture products were exported in August under the Istanbul grain deal.

The United Nations, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine signed two documents in Istanbul on July 22 to create a corridor for transporting grain from three Ukrainian ports: Odesa, Chornomorsk and Yuzhnyi (Pivdennyi).
