Russia expecting 4.4-4.9 Ghz 5G rollout in 2024 - dep PM

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 6 (Interfax) - Russia is expecting to roll out a 5G network at 4.4-4.9 GHz frequencies in 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko told Interfax on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.

"The frequencies have already been decided - the priority is 4.4-4.9 GHz. And we expect the construction of networks with our Russian equipment to begin as early as 2024," he said, when asked about the possibility of rolling out 5G in current conditions, including sanctions.

He said roadmaps already existed. "Our lead organization is Rostec, which will have to ensure the development and scaling of equipment based entirely on domestic solutions by that time," Chernyshenko said.
