Lenta launches sales via Wildberrires

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Lenta , which manages the largest hypermarket chain in Russia, has launched sales on the Wildberries marketplace, the retailer said in a statement.

At the initial stage, the lineup of goods on the site will include more than 300 items, Lenta said in its report. In the future, the company plans to expand offerings up to 3,000 items.

The retailer plans to sell non-food items of its own brands and direct imports (goods for tourism, sports and gardening, household and climate controlequipment, glassware, hygiene products, clothing and shoes) on Wildberries.

Wildberries employees will collect and deliver orders, with delivery time at the initial stage of the project's launch not to exceed two days.

"We are actively expanding partnerships with online marketplaces. Thanks to our partnership with Wildberries, Lenta will have a new audience," Lenta's director of online services Dmitry Ivanov was quoted as saying in the statement.

In October 2021, Lenta opened an online storefront on Ozon , and in 2020 launched sales on AliExpress. Furthermore, products from Lenta are available on Yandex.Market, Sbermarket, and Delivery Club.

The company is also developing its own delivery services.

Lenta is Russia's fourth-largest retailer by revenue and the largest hypermarket chain. As of the end of June, the company operated 809 stores (254 hypermarkets and 555 small format supermarkets and convenience stores).

Lenta's online sales increased 2.4-fold (by 135.4%) to 9.603 billion rubles in Q2 2022. In particular, sales via partners decreased by 3.1% to 2.158 billion rubles as a result of a change in their approaches to developing online offering, while the retailer's own online sales increased 2.7-fold (by 167.2%) to 4.949 billion rubles.
