Peace treaty between Armenia, Azerbaijan to be based on five principles proposed by Baku, accepted by Yerevan - Aliyev

BAKU. Sept 2 (Interfax) - The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia will hold practical talks on the peace treaty on the basis of five principles proposed by Baku and accepted by Yerevan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.

"These five principles include recognition of the territorial integrity of both countries, mutual dropping of any territorial claims, non-use of force or threat of force, delimitation of the borders and opening of communications," Aliyev told reporters in Italy on Friday.

These principles were proposed by Azerbaijan, and the Armenian prime minister has accepted them, he said.

"It was reaffirmed in our meeting in Brussels two days ago. Our foreign ministers will start practical talks on the text of the agreement on the basis of these five principles," the Azerbaijani president said.
