IAEA mission to Zaporizhzhya NPP obtains key info, work to continue - Grossi

ENERHODAR. Sept 1 (Interfax) - The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission has, over the several hours' work at Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, obtained key information on the situation there, with explanations from the staff, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, who led the mission, said.

"We were able in two hours to gather a lot of information. The key things I needed to see, I saw and all the explanations [were provided]," Grossi told reporters. He added that the work has only just begun and will continue.

Grossi said the mission partly will stay at the NPP for more detailed analysis of the situation and risks. In addition, the remaining experts will speak to Enerhodar residents for more detailed analysis of the situation around Ukrainian shelling of the NPP and the town, he said.

Grossi said the IAEA delegates had seen the selfless work of the NPP staff who are doing their job professionally, despite the fairly complicated situation and circumstances.
