Former Paulig subsidiary in Russia begins producing coffee under new Poetti brand at facility outside Tver

VORONEZH. Aug 31 (Interfax) - Milfoods LLC, formerly Paulig Rus LLC, has begun producing coffee under a new Russian brand called Poetti at a facility in Russia's Tver region, the press service for the regional government said.

"The first packs of Poetti produced are an important milestone in the history of our enterprise. First off the conveyer belt was coffee blend Poetti Daily Classic Crema in a 1 kilogram pack loved by consumers and in demand, which it will be possible to buy in the main sales channels in September," Milfoods Supply Chain Director Sergei Yushin was quoted as saying.

The company plans to boost output, producing not only whole bean and ground coffee, but also launching a line of instant coffee in 2023, the press service said. Planned investments in the launch will total no less than 135 million rubles.

The Milfoods facility is located at the Borovlevo 2 industrial park outside Tver. It has the capacity to produce over 25 million kilograms of coffee per year. The facilities employees, more than 100, have been kept on.

Green coffee is shipped to the plant directly from producers in more than ten countries.

Finnish coffee company Paulig closed a deal at the beginning of May to sell its Russian business, a coffee roastery outside Tver, to private investor Vikas Soi. Soi became general director of Milfoods LLC on June 8.

Trademarks and formulas were not included in the deal.
