VAT refunds in Ukraine at around 9.4 bln hryvni in Aug - MP Hetmantsev
MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax) - A total of 50.3 billion hryvni in value-added tax (VAT) refunds have been paid in Ukraine since the start of 2022 out of the 51.2 billion hryvni approved for reimbursement, Ukrainian media said, citing head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on finances, tax and customs policy Daniil Hetmantsev.
Applications for VAT refunds totaling 74 billion hryvni have been submitted, according to data published by Hetmantsev on Telegram.
Hetmantsev said earlier that in July the State Tax Service applied to the State Treasury for VAT refunds amounting to 5 billion hryvni, but the Treasury has not made these payments.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine and the Finance Ministry, a total of 40.9 billion hryvni were refunded in January-July 2022, VAT of 172.6 billion hryvni was paid over this period on goods manufactured in Ukraine. These figures for January-July 2021 stood at 86 billion hryvni and 172 billion hryvni, respectively.
VAT refunds in August stood at approximately 9.4 billion hryvni.
