Ukraine's Prometheus grain trader harvests over 40,000 tonnes of early crops

MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax) - The Prometheus grain trading company has finished harvesting early crops, gathering more than 40,000 tonnes of agricultural crops from over 6,000 hectares, in line with its earlier plans, Ukrainian media said.

Wheat yield was 7,120 tonnes per hectare, rapeseed yield 4,070 tonnes per hectare, and barley yield 6,600 tonnes per hectare, the grain trader said in a press release.

This year's early crops harvesting campaign was more successful that last season's thanks to more favorable weather conditions and the 100% availability of all necessary agricultural hardware, the company said.

Efforts have now started to prepare soil before winter crops are planted, it said.

Prometheus Group of Companies specializes in storing and processing grain and leguminous crops and in providing relevant logistics and has 33 silos able to hold a total of 1.7 million tonnes of crops simultaneously.

The grain trader projected its 2021 EBITDA at $45 million. In 2020, this figure stood at $32.6 million, and $30.5 million in 2019.
