Over 1.2 mln t of Ukrainian agricultural goods shipped under Black Sea grain initiative - UN

NEW YORK. Aug 30 (Interfax) - The Joint Coordination Center granted permission for six vessels carrying over 121,000 tonnes of good to leave Ukrainian ports on Tuesday under the Istanbul food deal, the United Nations reported.

The JCC sanctioned the departure of six vessels carrying a total of 121,451 tonnes of grain and other food products under the Black Sea grain initiative, the UN said.

The Seajoy carrying 64,215 tonnes of corn and the Michalis with 33,000 tonnes of corn will sail to Spain, the UN said. The Simas with 15,000 tonnes of wheat and Lady Zehma with 3,000 tonnes of corn will go to Italy, and the Saffet Aga and Afanasiy Matyushenko will deliver 3,200 tonnes of corn and 3,000 tonnes of wheat to Turkey.

In addition, the Karteria, with 37,500 tonnes of wheat purchased by the World Bank Food Program, rescheduled its departure from the Yuzhny port to Tuesday, August 30. It will sail to Turkey.

As of August 29, 1,289,065 tonnes of grain and other foodstuffs have been exported from three Ukrainian ports, the UN said, adding that the passage of 122 vessels has been permitted so far, including 67 arriving in Ukrainian ports and 55 leaving them.

The UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine signed two documents in Istanbul on July 22 on the creation of a corridor to ship out grain from three Ukrainian ports - Chornomorsk, Odesa and Yuzhny.
