Naftogaz head expects indoor temperatures in Ukraine to be cut by 4C in winter - media

MOSCOW. Aug 29 (Interfax) - Head of the Ukrainian state gas company Naftogaz Yuriy Vitrenko expects indoor temperatures to be set at between 17 and 18C, about four degrees lower than normal.

The thermostats on Ukraine's centralized heating systems are set to be switched on later during the fall and turned down earlier next spring, The Guardian quoted Vitrenko as saying. The heating season in major Ukrainian cities usually starts in mid-October and ends in late March or early April.

Ukraine also counts on Western donors' financial support to buy up to 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas for approximately $10 billion throughout the next heating season, he said.
