Russian telecoms regulator blocks The True Story website - register of banned info resources

MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax) - The True Story website, created by a former chief of the Yandex.News online service, has been added to the register of prohibited information resources run by the Russian telecoms regulator Roskomnadzor.

According to the register, the website was placed there on Thursday at the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office under Article 15.3 of the Federal Law 149-FZ On Information, Information Technology and Protection of Information as one containing calls for mass riots, extremist activities and participation in illegal public events.

The True Story website is a news aggregator created by former Yandex.News head Lev Gershenzon.
