Portugal to continue providing aid to Ukraine - FM

MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax) - Portugal will continue extending comprehensive assistance to Ukraine, Portuguese Foreign Minister Joao Cravinho said.

"Portugal will continue to provide four types of assistance - political, financial, military, and humanitarian," Ukrainian media quoted Cravinho as saying at a press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Kyiv on Wednesday.

More than 50,000 Ukrainian refugees who fled their country due to the conflict are currently residing in Portugal, he said.

The first part of Portugal's assistance for Ukraine will be sent to the Zhytomyr region to help it rebuild its educational establishments, he said.

"During his visit to Ukraine, the prime minister of Portugal announced that 250 million euros would be provided to Ukraine. The first part of this aid will be transferred to the Zhytomyr region in order to rebuild educational establishments there," Cravinho said.
