Russia, China could substantially expand catalogue of mutual deliveries of industrial goods

MOSCOW. Aug 24 (Interfax) - Russia sees opportunities to significantly increase the range of mutual supplies of industrial products with China, with trade in industrial products already accounting for more than half of the trade turnover between the countries, Deputy Prime Minister and Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said after a meeting of the Russian-Chinese subcommission on cooperation in industry of the Russian-Chinese Commission for preparation of regular meetings of heads of government.

During the meeting, Manturov stressed the importance of development of industrial cooperation between the two countries, according to a statement on the Russian government's website.

"The main contribution to the development of bilateral trade, of course, comes from trade in industrial products. Its share in overall trade turnover is now about 55%, and we see opportunities to significantly expand the catalogue of supplies, and in both directions," the deputy prime minister was quoted as saying.

"The meeting focused on current issues and prospects of cooperation in important industries. Agreements were reached aimed at promoting mutually beneficial projects in priority areas," the statement reads.
