Over 721,000 tonnes of agricultural products exported from Ukrainian ports under grain deal - UN

NEW YORK, UN. Aug 23 (Interfax) - The Joint Coordination Center has cleared a Turkey-bound vessel carrying more than 2,000 tonnes of corn to depart from the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk, the United Nations said.

On August 22, the Joint Coordination Center approved the departure of another commercial vessel, the Kafkam Etler, which is due to leave Chornomorsk for Turkey on August 23, delivering 2,437 tonnes of corn as part of the Black Sea grain initiative, the UN said in a statement.

As of August 22, a total of 721,449 tonnes of grain and foodstuffs have been exported from three Ukrainian ports, it said.

In addition, the Joint Coordination Center on August 22 finished inspecting another three vessels, I Maria, Zumrut, and Oceans, departing from Ukrainian ports, and six arriving vessels, Ganga Star, Ashabaltic, Aeolos, Peace M, Anastasia, and FPMC B201, the UN said. They were cleared for departure.

On Tuesday, the center's inspectors plan to inspect another three inbound vessels, Daytona Dynamic, Eneida, and Silver Lady, as well as three outbound vessels, Da Liang, Filyoz, and Kubrosli Y.

As reported earlier, between August 1 and August 15, the Joint Coordination Center approved 36 vessels arriving in Ukraine and leaving it. A total of 563,317 tonnes of grain and other foodstuffs were transported from Ukrainian ports to Turkey, Iran, South Korea, China, and other countries over that period.

Thus, more than 158,000 tonnes of agriculture products were exported between August 16 and August 22.

The United Nations, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine signed two documents on July 22 to create a corridor for transporting grain from three Ukrainian ports: Odesa, Chornomorsk and Yuzhnyi (Pivdennyi).
