Turkish president goes to Ukraine to meet with Zelensky, Guterres
ISTANBUL. Aug 18 (Interfax) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has departed for Ukraine to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the Anadolu agency said on Thursday.
According to the agency, the Turkish leader's plane departed from the Ankara Airport at about 9 a.m.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Defense Minister Hulusi Akar are accompanying Erdogan on his visit, it said.
Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN secretary general, said earlier that Guterres would have a trilateral meeting with Erdogan and Zelensky in Lviv on Thursday.
