No info about refusal to deliver foreign medical equipment to Russia - ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - There is currently no information about any suspension of deliveries of foreign medical equipment, including associated components and spare parts, to Russia, Russian Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Vasily Shpak said.

"The Russian Industry and Trade Ministry has not received information about any suspension of deliveries of foreign medical equipment, including components and spare parts, to the territory of the Russian Federation," Shpak told reporters.

According to Shpak, such information was earlier received from suppliers of reagents and consumables for equipment used in blood cancer therapy. After that, the Industry and Trade Ministry added these products to the parallel import list "in order to cover the needs of federal government agencies."

"The Industry and Trade Ministry of Russia also expects suggestions from the Health Ministry, the Federal Medical-Biological Agency and Rospotrebnadzor regarding the inclusion of additional medical equipment items in the parallel import list," Shpak said, adding that this list will be updated after such suggestions are submitted.
