UN secretary general to travel to Ukraine on Thursday for meeting with Erdogan and Zelensky

NEW YORK, Aug 16 (Interfax) - UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres will attend a three-way meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Lviv on Thursday, the former's spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said on Tuesday.

"The Secretary-General will be in Lviv on Thursday to attend a trilateral meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey and the Ukrainian leader [Zelensky]," Dujarric said.

The following day Guterres will head to Odesa where he will visit the local port, one of the busiest in the Black Sea, he said.

The UN expects a bilateral meeting between Guterres and Zelensky as well, the spokesman said.

On July 22 in Istanbul, the UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine attended the signing of two documents to create a corridor to enable grain exports from three Ukrainian seaports: Chornomorsk, Odesa and Yuzhne.
