Ukrainian court imposes asset freeze on another 41 Russian railcars

MOSCOW. Aug 16 (Interfax) - A Ukrainian court has imposed an asset freeze on 41 railcars owned by companies registered in Russia, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said on Telegram.

These railcars, which transported products of Ukrainian enterprises, arrived in Ukraine on February 23, 2022, the Prosecutor General's Office said.

"[...] certain officials decided to take advantage of the situation. They seized the railcars and their contents - fuel and coal," it said.

The Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine's Sumy region is providing procedural guidance in a criminal case opened on abuse of office charges, it said.
