Talks on possible Russia-U.S. prisoner swap underway between authorized agencies - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Authorized agencies from both Russia and United States are conducting negotiations on a possible exchange of Russian and American citizens serving prison terms, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
"They [the negotiations] are being conducted between authorized agencies," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ivan Nechayev said at a press briefing on Thursday.
Moscow assumes that "the interests of both parties must be taken into consideration during the negotiating process," he said.
