Novak replaces Borisov as co-chairman of Russia-Venezuela commission

MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has been appointed co-chairman of the Russia-Venezuela High-Level Intergovernmental Commission.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed an order on the appointment and it has been posted on the official website for legal information.

Novak will replace Yury Borisov on the commission, as the latter stepped down from the position of deputy prime minister in mid-July.

Novak will also serve for the second time as co-chairman of the Russia-Qatar Intergovernmental Commission for Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation. He stepped down from this position in December 2020, passing it to Borisov.

Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov will replace Borisov as co-chairman of the Russia-Iraq Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

Far East and Arctic Development Minister Alexei Chekunkov will replace Deputy Prime Minister and Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov as co-chairman of the Russia-Thailand Commission for Bilateral Cooperation.

Natural Resources Minister Alexander Kozlov, meanwhile, will replace Chekunkov as co-chairman of the Russia-North Korea Intergovernmental Commission for Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation.
