Russia to only require mandatory marking for e-cigarettes in 2022 - Industry and Trade Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - Mandatory marking for new groups of goods will only be introduced for electronic nicotine delivery systems and nicotine liquids in 2022, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Vasily Shpak said.

"Now, at the request of the industry, there are plans for early completion of only the experiment for marking nicotine liquids and electronic nicotine delivery systems and beginning mandatory marking of such products," Shpak told Interfax through the ministry's press service.

Industry Ministry officials said in the spring that the authorities intended to refrain from launching marking of new groups of goods this year. But on Tuesday the ministry published a draft government resolution to launch mandatory marking of e-cigarettes and nicotine liquids for them as of November 1, 2022. The experiment for marking these products, begun in February, was supposed to be concluded in February 2023.
