State Border Guard Service of Ukraine presents border crossing statistics

MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - About 304,000 passengers entered Ukraine across the western border over the week from July 30 to August 5, while 283,000 persons departed from Ukraine; both readings grew 8% week-on-week, the Ukrainian media said with the reference to the reports published by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on social media.

According to the reports, the net traffic into Ukraine grew from roughly 19,000 to about 21,000 over the week.

The number of cars that cross the border grew 9% to about 130,000 over the week, while the number of cleared humanitarian trucks increased by 4% to 447.

As reported by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, 10.35 million people left Ukraine between February 24 and August 2, including 5.106 million for Poland, 1.968 million for Russia, 1.089 million for Hungary, 964,900 for Romania, 648,500 for Slovakia, 557,200 for Moldova, and 16,700 for Belarus.

Meanwhile, 4.272 million people came to Ukraine between February 28 and August 2 (without due account of information from Hungary, Russia and Belarus).
