Pontiff considering possible visit to Ukraine - Ukrainian ambassador to Vatican

MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Pope of Rome Francis is considering a possible visit to Ukraine, Ukrainian Ambassador to the Vatican Andriy Yurash said following a meeting with the Pontiff on Saturday.

"I am very close to Ukraine and want to express this closeness through my visit to Ukraine - important words of Pope Francis expressed during today's meeting Holy Father," the Ukrainian media quoted the ambassador as saying on social media.

"Ukraine for many years has been waiting for Pope and [it]'ll be happy to greet him before his trip to Kazakhstan," the ambassador said.
