Russia, Turkey discuss cooperation in key economic sectors, intend to broaden it

MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - Russia and Turkey have expressed an intention to broaden their cooperation in key sectors of the economy, the Russian government website stated after a meeting in Turkey between Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Mus, who both co-chairs a bilateral intergovernmental commission.

The two sides discussed energy cooperation, in particular the operation of the TurkStream and Blue Stream gas pipelines, and the construction of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant.

The co-chairs also discussed transport logistics, manufacturing, agriculture and tourism.

"It was noted that the Russian-Turkish cooperation is at the high level and continues to develop," the statement said.
