Program enabling Ukrainian refugees to convert hryvnia banknotes to euros launched in Malta

MOSCOW. Aug 2 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Malta and the National Bank of Ukraine on August 1 launched a program that allows Ukrainian refugees to convert their hryvnia banknotes to euros, the Ukrainian media said, citing the NBU press service.

Ukrainian displaced persons enjoying temporary protection under Malta's law will be able to exchange up to 10,000 hryvni per person, the press service said.

Banks in Malta will convert 100-hryvnia to 1,000-hryvnia banknotes into euros.

As reported, hryvnia banknotes exchange programs have already been launched in Poland, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
