Recorded unemployment level in Russia doesn't exceed 0.9% - Russian deputy PM

MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax) - The recorded unemployment level in Russia remains unchanged, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said.

"The number of registered unemployed citizens did not change between July 11, 2022 and July 25, 2022 and is at 681,400. The recorded unemployment level still does not exceed 0.9%," Golikova was quoted as saying by her office at a meeting of the interdepartmental group on labor market recovery.

The number of citizens working part-time or incomplete weeks also decreased on July 11-25 from 134,400 to 130,600, and the number of workers on standby has decreased to 105,400.

Russian Labor and Social Security Minister Anton Kotyakov said applications continue to be accepted from citizens for vocational training under the federal project Assisting Employment of the national project Demography. More than 76,000 people have already started training and 32,200 have completed it.

Russia's Federal Service for State Statistics (Rosstat) on Wednesday published data on the unemployment level in Russia in June, which stayed at the May level of 3.9%. It is a historical minimum for the unemployment level since the start of observation in 1991. The total number of unemployed people in Russia has reached three million people.

Golikova said after the July 15 meeting of the interdepartmental working group on labor market recovery that the situation on the labor market remains stable in Russia and the number of registered unemployed people does not exceed 0.9% of the total number of workers.
