World Bank, KSE estimate expenses on telecommunications restoration in Ukraine at $2.6 bln

MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - The World Bank experts in cooperation with the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), as well as the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation and the National Commission, which provides state regulation of electronic communications, radio frequency range and postal services, have estimated the cost of restoring the Ukrainian telecom market at $2.6 billion, the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation said.

As the Ukrainian mass media report citing the information of the ministry on the social media, the experts think that out of $2.6 billion, in particular, $1.79 billion will be needed to clear the territory and rebuild the damaged infrastructure, $0.71 billion - to purchase towers, cables, fiber and equipment for construction, $0.1 billion - the amount of losses of companies due to the lack of subscriber fees.
