Zelensky appoints Andriy Kostin Ukraine's prosecutor general - decree

MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky has signed a decree appointing Andriy Kostin to the post of the country's prosecutor general.

The relevant document is available for viewing on the presidential website, the Ukrainian media said.

Meanwhile, Oleksandr Klimenko has been appointed to head the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine after the contest commission declared him the winner of an honest contest and after he was endorsed in this post by Kostin, Ukrainian media outlets quoted head of Zelensky's Office Andriy Yermak as saying on social media on Thursday.

"Independent anti-corruption infrastructure is an important element of democracy in Ukraine. The fight against corruption is our state's priority, as our investment appeal and the freedom of business depend on its success," Yermak said.
