Russia sees 6,183 new Covid-19 cases, 47 related deaths over past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. July 26 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 6,183 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, while 1,664 people diagnosed with coronavirus have been hospitalized and 47 have died, the coronavirus operative response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

"As of July 26, Russia has identified 6,183 new cases of Covid-19. The number of daily hospitalizations amounted to 1,664 people, having increased by 119.2% compared to the previous day," it said.

The number of related hospitalizations grew in 70, decreased in 14, and remained the same in one constituent territories of Russia, it said.

The headquarters reported 759 coronavirus-related hospitalizations on Monday.

Forty-seven patients with coronavirus have died over the past 24 hours. On Monday, the headquarters reported 34 related deaths.

Compared to the previous day, when Russia saw 6,571 cases of Covid-19, the number of new infections has decreased by 388. Daily cases have remained roughly at the level seen previously in early May.

"As many as 5,422 people have recovered over the past 24 hours, or 28.1% more than on July 25," it said.

Russia has recorded a total of 18,545,009 cases of Covid-19, 382,236 related deaths, and 17,948,330 recoveries during the period of the pandemic.
