Japan imposing ban on Russian gold imports from Aug 1 - Finance Ministry

TOKYO. July 25 (Interfax) - The ban on gold imports from Russia to Japan, adopted earlier by the Japanese government, will take effect on August 1, according to a statement from the country's Ministry of Finance.

"The ministry's updated notice in this regard will take effect on August 1 of this year," the statement said.

According to the document, the ban on gold imports is based on a July 5 decision by Japan's Cabinet as part of measures to freeze the assets of individuals affiliated with Russia.
