Turkmenistan willing to step up energy supply via C. Asian countries - President Berdimuhamedov
ASHGABAT. July 22 (Interfax) - Turkmenistan stands ready to significantly increase energy exports and expand their transit network in Central Asia, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said at a consultative meeting between the leaders of the Central Asian states in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, on Thursday.
The Turkmen government newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan published the text of Berdimuhamedov's presentation on Friday.
Mentioning the implementation of a major energy project in Central Asia, namely the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline, Berdimuhamedov said partnership in the energy sector could be continued and expanded.
"We count on continuing and expanding energy partnership. Our achievements include the implementation of a major energy project, the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline," he said.
Ashgabat is willing "to consider options together with its partners to significantly increase energy supplies and expand their transit configuration," he said.
