Putin, Saudi Crown Prince bin Salman stress importance of further coordination within OPEC+

MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken by telephone with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, the Kremlin press service said in a statement.

"The present situation on the global oil market was examined in detail. The importance of further coordination within the OPEC+ was stressed. It was noted with satisfaction that the states participating in this format have consistently honored their obligations in order to maintain the right balance and stability on the global energy market," the statement said.

"The parties also exchanged views on the state of affairs in Syria in light of the results of the Tehran meeting of the heads of state of the Astana process for assisting the Syrian settlement on July 19," it said.

"Both sides gave a positive assessment of the level achieved in the friendly relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia. Pressing issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed with the emphasis on the expansion of mutually beneficial trade and economic relations," it said.

"It was agreed to continue contacts at various levels," the statement said.
