Gazprom supplies record daily volume of Russian gas to China via Power of Siberia

MOSCOW. July 20 (Interfax) - Gazprom reached a new record for daily volume of Russian gas supplied to China through the Power of Siberia pipeline on July 19, the Russian gas giant said.

"China is boosting volumes of daily purchases of Russian gas through the Power of Siberia pipeline. A new all-time record was reached on July 19. Gazprom is currently supplying more than the daily contract quantity. Supplies are being carried out within the framework of a long-term contract between Gazprom and Chinese company CNPC," Gazprom said.

Supplies of Russian pipeline gas to China rose 63.4% in the first half of 2022. According to the company's quarterly report, 4.619 billion cubic meters of gas were delivered to China in the first six months of 2021, meaning that 7.5 bcm of gas have been supplied to China in the past six months.

Supplies of Russian gas through Power of Siberia to China from the Chayanda field in Yakutia began at the end of 2019. They are due to be ramped up to 38 bcm per year in the first five years.
