Gazprom Helium Service begins construction of LNG complex in Amur Region's Svobodnensky District

BLAGOVESHCHENSK. July 19 (Interfax) - Gazprom Helium Service has begun construction of a natural gas liquefaction complex with a capacity of 1.5 tons of LNG per hour in the Amur Region, the company said in a statement.

"Work has begun on the site of the future production facility to build a temporary road and fences, organize the construction headquarters, supply materials and mobilize equipment. Comprehensive engineering surveys and development of the main technical solutions for the LNG complex are nearing completion," the statement reads.

NTL Research and Production Company (Sverdlovsk Region) has begun building the main technological equipment for the new complex - cryogenic pumping, compression and natural gas liquefaction units. Components with a long delivery time used in the assembly of the main technological units have been ordered.

As reported, in June Gazprom Helium Service LLC and FITO Research and Production Company LLC signed a contract for 1.365 billion rubles for the construction of an LNG plant in the Amur Region. The document envisages comprehensive engineering surveys, design, construction and installation and commissioning works, as well as equipping with main and auxiliary technological equipment.

The project is being implemented in the Svobodnensky District. The first consumer will be a boiler station in the Amurselmash neighborhood of Belogorsk.

The natural gas liquefaction complex in Amur Oblast is the second LNG facility implemented by Gazprom Helium Service in the Far East. The natural gas liquefaction technology with the use of the throttle-ejector cycle is used in the construction of the natural gas liquefaction plant at the helium hub in the Nadezhdinskaya PDA in the Primorye Territory.

"Gazprom Helium Service is a subsidiary of Gazprom Gazonefteprodukt Holding LLC.
