Russia sees 4,200 new Covid-19 cases, 44 related deaths over past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 4,200 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, while over 1,300 people diagnosed with coronavirus have been hospitalized and 44 have died, the coronavirus operative response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

"As of July 19, Russia has identified 4,200 new cases of Covid-19. The number of daily hospitalizations amounted to 1,337 people, having increased by 132.5% compared to the previous day," it said.

The number of related hospitalizations grew in 64, decreased in 11, and remained the same in 10 constituent territories of Russia, it said.

The headquarters reported 575 coronavirus-related hospitalizations on Monday.

Forty-four patients with coronavirus have died over the past 24 hours. On Monday, the headquarters reported 35 related deaths.

Compared to the previous day, when Russia saw 4,548 cases of Covid-19, the number of new infections has decreased by 348. At the same time, daily cases have exceeded 4,000 for the sixth day in a row, a trend seen previously in early June.

"As many as 4,186 people have recovered over the past 24 hours, or 65.4% more than on July 18," it said.

Russia has recorded a total of 18,499,044 cases of Covid-19, 381,960 related deaths, and 17,915,526 recoveries during the period of the pandemic.
