Covid-19 incidence rate in Russia up by 30.2% over past week - HQ

MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - The incidence rate of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population increased by 30.2% in Russia in general last week compared to the previous week, and the incidence of related hospitalizations grew in the same period by 3.2%, the coronavirus operative response headquarters said on Monday.

In particular, the incidence rate of coronavirus cases grew in 68 constituent entities of Russia.

"The incidence rate of novel coronavirus infection cases per 100,000 population amounted to 20.1 last week, up by 30.2% from the previous week. The incidence rate increased in 68 federal entities of Russia, including an increase higher than the national average in 22 regions," it said.

The incidence rate of Covid-19 cases in Russia has been growing for the third week in a row.

The incidence of hospitalizations per 100,000 population last week was 5.4, up by 3.2% compared to the previous week. The number of hospitalizations per 100,000 people grew in 44 federal entities, including an increase higher than the national average in 22 of them, it said.

Russia has recorded a total of 18,494,844 cases of Covid-19, 381,916 related deaths, and 17,911,340 recoveries during the period of the pandemic.
