DPR ombudsman: Captive British mercenary Paul Urey dies in DPR

DONETSK. July 15 (Interfax) - Captive British national Paul Urey has died in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), DPR ombudsman Darya Morozova said.

"British national Paul Johnson Anthony Dominic Urey is also among the aforementioned persons [captive foreign citizens who fought on the side of Kyiv]. Paul Urey was diagnosed with a number of chronic illnesses, including insulin-dependent diabetes, respiratory and kidney impairments, and several cardiovascular diseases, during his first medical examination. He died on July 10 in light of his diagnoses and stress," the press service for the DPR ombudsman said in a statement released on Friday.

Urey was a "military professional and participated in conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Ukraine," the statement said.
