Ukrainian manganese ore imports down 25% in H1

MOSCOW. July 14 (Interfax) - Ukraine reduced manganese ore and concentrate imports 25% year-on-year in H1 2022 to 135,021 tonnes, Ukrainian media quoted the State Customs service as saying.

The imports fell 17.5% in value to $17.963 million.

The imports came from Ghana - 99.9% in value, and from Belgium - 0.1%.

Ukraine did not export manganese ore and concentrates in H1 2022.

Imports fell 26.8% to 425,279 tonnes and 29.6% to $53.917 million in 2021, and came from Ghana - 99.87% in value, from Brazil - 0.07% and from Belgium - 0.05%.

Ukraine exported 770 tonnes to Poland, 94.38% and to Russia, 5.62% for $89,000, in 2021, compared with 69,303 tonnes for $10.819 million in 2021.

The Pokrov, formerly Ordzhonikidze, and Marhanets mining and beneficiation plants, both located in Dnipropetrovsk region, mine and process manganese ore in Ukraine.
