Grigoriev takes Zharkova's place as general director of FinTech Association

MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax) - Maxim Grigoriev has been appointed the general director of FinTech Association, according to Russia's Unified State Register of Legal Entities.

"The general meeting of FinTech Association members made the decision to appoint Maxim Grigoriev the general director of FinTech Association. There are plans to reformat the association under his leadership taking into account the new objectives and directions of fintech and the further digitalization of financial products and services," the FinTech Association press service said.

Grigoriev replaced Tatyana Zharkova, who had been general director of the association since February 2020.

"The country's financial market today is going through a stage of transformation, coming toe to toe with serious challenges. In these conditions, market players have a need for modern and first of all Russian IT products based on innovative technologies, among other things. In connection with this, we have decided to reboot FinTech Association," Russian Central Bank First Deputy Governor Olga Skorobogatova was quoted as saying by the press service.

There are plans to create a repository of both Russian and independent solutions for the financial sector and the technology sandbox on the FinTech Assoctiation platform, where developers can pilot new digital and IT products, Skorobogatova said. The association will also work to develop open finance and data technologies, distributed ledgers, and digital financial assets.

FinTech Association plans to pilot new digital customer journeys and products that combine financial and non-financial services with financial market players and others, such as marketplaces.

"We will present an updated roadmap on the implementation of the priority directions of the association's activities to the general meeting of FinTech Association members before the end of the year. The roadmap will be aimed at supporting and developing financial market technologies and digital products and services," Grigoriev was quoted as saying by the press service.
