Former Sistema head's co to develop chain of CNG, LNG filling stations in Russia with charging stations

KRASNODAR. July 13 (Interfax) - Green Drive LLC, a company founded by former Sistema PJSFC president Andrei Dubovskov, plans to develop a chain of compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) filling stations in Russia that will also have charging stations for electric vehicles (EVCS), Green Drive CEO Sergei Yakovlev told Interfax.

"The company has plans to build universal CNG/LNG filling stations with charging infrastructure [for electric vehicles]. Such a unique facility for Russia - CNG/LNG/EVCS - is already operating in Rostov Region near the city of Shakhty," Yakovlev said.

Building a network of such filling stations in Rostov Region will be the company's pilot project, he said.

"So far, the funds the company has channelled into setting up stations have been a private investment. We see that our solutions are in-demand, there is an acute need for them," Yakovlev said.

"Green Drive's project to outfit the Rostov region with charging and fueling infrastructure, cemented by an agreement with the regional government, calls for 180 million rubles of investment to the end of 2024. We plan to raise external resources, credit financing. And the region is prepared to subsidize in accordance with the program of state support from the federal budget - reimbursement of up to 60% of expenses on equipment, as well as compensation of up to 30% of expenses on utility connections. The local authorities are also prepared to assure the investor conditions for connection to utility networks in the sufficient amount - 150 kW for each EVCS," Yakovlev said.

Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev and Dubovskov signed the agreement on the project in July 2022 at the Innoprom exhibition.

In the long term, there are plans to implement such projects in other regions of Russia, he said, without going into details.

Green Drive is also carrying out a comprehensive project to install fast charging stations along the whole stretch of the M4 Don highway from Moscow to cities on the Black Sea coast of Krasnodar Territory.
