Criminal case of fakes about Russian army opened against opposition politician Yashin - lawyer
MOSCOW. July 12 (Interfax) - The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case of spreading deliberately false information about the use of the Russian Armed Forces against opposition politician Ilya Yashin, lawyer Vadim Prokhorov told Interfax on Tuesday.
"The investigative directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under Article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code (spreading deliberately false information about the use of the Russian Armed Forces) against Ilya Yashin. An investigator just called me, a search at Yashin's home is starting. I'm headed there," Prokhorov said.
Interfax does not yet have the case details or comments from investigators.
The opposition politician is currently under administrative arrest at a detention facility. He was arrested for 15 days on June 28 for resisting police.
