Khabarovsk governor asks for declaring federal state of emergency over wildfires

KHABAROVSK. July 12 (Interfax) - The Khabarovsk territorial authorities will ask the Federal Agency for Forestry (Rosleskhoz) to declare a federal state of emergency in the Khabarovsk Territory due to the wildfires ranging in the north.

"The wildfire situation is complicated in the Khabarovsk Territory. Weathermen are not promising any change in weather that could make things easier. Hence, a decision has been made to ask Rosleskhoz to declare a federal state of emergency in the region," Khabarovsk Governor Mikhail Degtyaryov said on Telegram on Tuesday.

On July 7, Degtyaryov declared a territorial state of emergency in the Khabarovsk Territory due to wildfires.
