More than 36,000 citizens of Ukraine arrive in Belarus since Feb 24

MINSK. July 8 (Interfax) - More than 36,000 citizens of Ukraine have arrived in Belarus since February 24, the Belarusian State Border Committee said on Friday.

"A total of 36,366 citizens of Ukraine entered our country from 6:00 a.m. on February 24 to 6:00 a.m. on July 8: 15,838 entered through the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, 17,402 in transit through Poland, 2,650 through Lithuania, and 476 through Latvia," the report said.

"The Belarusian side is providing all necessary assistance to them," the agency said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24.
