Amazon receives Ukraine Peace Prize

MOSCOW. July 6 (Interfax) - Ukraine has awarded the Ukraine Peace Prize to the company Amazon for supporting the country.

The prize was presented by Ukrainian Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov at a meeting in Lugano, Switzerland.

"Amazon Web Services actively supports Ukraine. The company has helped save our digital infrastructure. In particular, the migration of Ukraine's state registers and critical databases to the AWS cloud platform was critically important," Ukrainian media said with reference to the Digital Transformation Ministry's social media post.

Fedorov and AWS Director of Government Transformation Liam Maxwell discussed cooperation on digital Lend Lease and Ukraine's post-crisis reconstruction, the ministry said.

"Maxwell said the company is willing to help with technological solutions for digitalizing the public administration sector and the judicial system," the ministry said.

The Ukraine Peace Prize has been instituted by the Ukrainian president for companies and corporations, governments, officials, and global politicians supporting Ukraine.

As reported earlier, Google was the first to receive the Ukraine Peace Prize. The prize has also been awarded to Microsoft.
