Putin not to congratulate Biden on Independence Day due to hostile U.S. policy - Peskov

MOSCOW. July 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will not congratulate the U.S. administration on Independence Day this time, as Washington's unfriendly policy towards Russia reached its peak this year, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"No, there will be no congratulatory telegram this year," Peskov said at a press briefing on Monday.

"The reason is that this year has seen a culmination in the unfriendly policy of the United States towards our country. Given these circumstances, such a congratulatory message would hardly be reasonable," Peskov said.

The United States celebrates Independence Day on July 4.
